Who is on the board now?
Our board consists of our founders, fosters and volunteers – people who are fully committed to our mission and activity involved in the work we do
How long are the terms?
Two consecutive 3 year terms with the option to extend those terms.
What committees exist?
- Executive Committee
- Fundraising Committee
- Finance Committee
- Event Committee (for events outside of fundraisers such as adoption and promotional events.
- Governance and Nominating Committee
- Communications and Public Relations Committee
- Audit Committee

What are the requirements and expectations of board members?

What are the preferred skills of prospective board members? (Not all are required and some are specialized skills)

How are new board members elected?
New board members are elected by current board members.
What is the required financial contribution or dues?
$100 per month with a give or get of $2500 per year.
What is the expected time commitment?
We expect working board members to be able to commit at least 20 hours per month to our mission.
How often and when are board meetings held?
Official meetings are held on the first Monday of every month at 7:00PM PT via Zoom. However, regular strategic planning sessions or meetings may be held in between official board meetings.
How are board communications handled?
All board communications will be handled via email. Any urgent matters or basic questions may be handled via text or phone call.
